Any reptile keeper will tell you live food can be hard to keep alive long-term which puts people off
from taking advantage of big savings on bulk buying live insects!
What plecoKings Bug Gel allows you to do is give the live insects a source of water in a form that they can not drown in!
The insect simply climbs onto the water filled Bug Gel crystals and sucks water from them!
These crystals can be used by keepers of a variety of inverts such as -
Spiders, Scorpions, Mantis, Stick insects, Cockroaches
Not to mention the live food insects -
Locusts, Crickets, Mealworms, Wax worms
As you can see PlecoKing Bug Gel can be used for a very broad range of invertebrates!
For best results we recommend you use bottled mineral water to soak the Gel crystals as some
invertebrates (spiders & Scorpions) can be delicate to tap water!
But we also recommend mineral water as if you are feeding you inverts to reptiles or other exotic animals! all the vitamins and minerals
contained in the water will help you animal get a much better and healthier diet from eating them!
When preparing you Bug Gel crystals we suggest a ratio of 1.5 litre's of water for every
10 grams of Bug Gel crystals used.
Leave the Gel crystals to sit in the water for around an hour for maximum absorption! -
Drain off any unabsorbed water and your ready to add to you invert enclosure.
Now you can simply place a small shallow dish in the enclosure and add a few water filled crystals as and when your inverts need them!
We recommend making the mix in a bucket as the gel will rapidly expand and if to smaller container is used there is risk of spillage!
Another fantastic fact about PlecoKing Bug Gel is, after you have mixed your crystals with water
you can store the Gel in a sealed container for unto 12 months for use as and when you need it!
so as you can see there is no wasted product!
The actual Gel crystals themselves, in the pre mixed form have a 5 year shelf life!
